Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a healing system based on more than 2,000 years of experience and knowledge of Chinese doctors. TCM uses unique methods and approaches to maintain and restore health, based on the principles of balance and harmony of body and spirit.
Basic Concepts of TCM
  • Yin and Yang: Everything in the Universe consists of two opposing but complementary forces – Yin (dark, feminine, passive) and Yang (light, masculine, active). The balance of these forces ensures health and harmony in the body.
  • Five Elements (Wu Xing): Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood are the main elements that interact with each other and affect the body. Understanding their interactions helps in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Qi: Vital energy that circulates throughout the body through special channels – meridians. Balance and free flow of Qi are key to maintaining health.
